A pair of Norfolk Southern diesel locomotives are delivering cars at the
company's former interchange with the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad
located in the West End section of the City of Pittsburgh, Pa. The massive
concrete and steel structure in the background is West Carson Street, which
the N&S crossed over in order to access the interchange.

This picture was taken 3/22/1968 at Brownsville, Pa., when the Monongahela
Railway received second-hand Baldwin "Sharks" it had purchased from the New
York Central Railroad. Many pictures of these locomotives in different
liveries will be featured in Kahndog's upcoming book,
Monongahela Railway Motive Power.
